Wellness Wednesdays – “Wink”

By Andrew Phillips | September 2, 2015

Hello everybody and welcome to another Wellness Wednesday!

Handicapped Pets Canada Wellness Wednesdays

Wink (Left) and Kovu

I’d like to introduce you all to “Wink” a 2-year-old domestic long hair kitty that is also a Cyclops! (She only has one eye). Wink was found as a stray when she was only a couple of weeks old and brought into the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley late one night. Poor Wink had a terrible upper respiratory infection that was so severe it caused her eye to become badly infected and it needed to be removed. She had many wounds that had become infested with maggots and was probably the saddest looking thing you’ve ever seen. A staff member at the emergency clinic decided to take the kitten on and after weeks of care in the hospital and a surgery to remove they eye, Wink went to her forever home where she became ‘little sis’ to another disabled cat and a crazy dog! These days, Wink is doing great! Although she sometimes gets little colds as an after effect of the upper respiratory infection, and she has a tendency to walk in circles with her good eye on the outside, Wink is a super happy and friendly kitty! She and her family send a big thank you out to the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley and Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital for giving her a fighting chance and a great life.
